Community Work

Our Community Work aims to help Tackle Social Exclusion, Involve and Empower our Communities and Build Partnerships - This is achieved through a series of programmes and initiatives:- The Tenants’ Support Service and Community Support Programme works with people in their own homes, Families Together provides activities for children, Parents/carers and then joint activities as a family, The Harbour Project works with Migrant Workers and Residents of the Harbour Ward. P.S.A.M. (Preventing suicide among men) works with young people and vulnerable men who due to personal circumstances may be at a high risk.

How we work:

Tackling social exclusion

By working with our service users and others to address ‘quality of life’ issues i.e. education and training, health and social care, poverty and financial exclusion, helping to promote sustainable communities and combat social exclusion.

Involving and empowering our communities

By ensuring that our community development work revolves around the needs of our programme participants and the wider community, by using their ideas for solutions and working within communities.

Building partnerships

By bringing organisations and communities together to tackle a wide range of issues and to develop partnerships which helps in targeting resources where most needed, working together to use resources effectively.
